Weekend Bike Ride
We lucked out with some wonderful weather out here in Colorado this weekend. Wonderful weather = sunny with temps above freezing (highs were in the 50s this weekend!). The "warm" streak also meant that much of the snow that fell a week ago melted off enough to render most bike paths to be snow/ice free so we went out for a bike ride. We took a leisurely ride, avoiding any serious hills, and we were probably out there for two hours. Because we went for such a long ride, we tucked our son into the trusty bike trailer with a cozy blanket and a good movie on our portable DVD player. Despite the movie, he still fell asleep halfway through our trip -- we can always count on a bike ride to put him to sleep!
I love getting outside and seeing other people enjoying the outdoors, too, and we were in good company with lots of runners, walkers, and cyclists enjoying the same pathways we were on. Denver has an amazing trail system which we are still exploring...after all, we've only been here for nine months!
Other highlights from the weekend included homemade buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup apples and an afternoon trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
How was your weekend? Did you get outdoors or do anything that really recharged you for the week ahead?
